Mix and Match maven

Happy Wednesday, lovelies! I hope everyone is having a great midweek and accomplishing everything you set out to! With a new season comes new trends, and one of my favorite things is suddenly becoming a trend for Spring: Mix and matching. I’ve always loved to mix and match what I already have in my closet and make something different, and this look is no exception!

Mixing up what you already have is a great way to stop yourself from buying something new that you really don’t need. I’m definitely guilty of buying something that is similar if not the same thing as something I already have in my closet! Before I know it, I’m the crazy lady with a pile of dresses.

This dress from Forever 21 has been in my closet for awhile now and was something I wore for my birthday last year. While I typically don’t like to repeat outfits from big events (birthdays, graduations, etc.), I had to wear this dress again for the spring. The dress is perfect for a lunch date or an afternoon shopping. I decided to use a thrifted shirt to put over the dress because otherwise the dress wouldn’t work for a casual look. I love how the two colors of peach and blue join together and really balance each other out. Paired with a beige flat and burgundy bag, this look puts everything together but allows everything to stand out at the same time.

It’s imperative to your style that you look through your closet and find something you haven’t worn in awhile. Find out how to be creative with it and wear it differently. It will save you time and money and also force you to step outside of the norm. Force yourself to get out of the mindset that just because you wear an outfit one way means you have to wear it the same way the rest of your life! Make yourself uncomfortable and I guarantee you’ll like the results!
